Apprenticeships

Practical pathways to develop new and existing talent

View all apprenticeships

We work in an age where we can no longer rely on recruitment to attract the skills we need for the retail industry.

Our future-focused apprenticeships can be used to attract and train your talent of tomorrow, or to evolve and shift your internal capabilities by investing in your existing workforce either in their current role, or as a reskilling opportunity in a new department (hello retention!).

FRA Talent Lab has a strong track record developing and delivering innovative, high-quality apprenticeships for the retail industry across multiple categories including fashion, general merchandise and grocery.

Apprenticeships funding explained

Apprenticeships are either paid from your Apprenticeship Levy or via Government Co-Invest. 100% of costs are covered if paying via the Apprenticeship Levy – as long as you have enough in your pot. If you are an independent or smaller retailer and don’t reach the Apprenticeship Levy threshold, you’ll pay just 5% of the cost of the Standard, and the Government tops up the rest. That’s as little as £175 to develop a member of your team to a recognised industry standard!

Diversity and Inclusion

Apprenticeships and Traineeships are a great way to increase and champion diversity in your workforce, and challenge the way you think about hiring.
